Movimientos
In this project we analyzed Spanish art and literature and recreated our own versions of famous art pieces. We began by looking at the different art movements, some of these included; modernism, naturalism, and post-modernism. After looking at these we began our first art piece, this could be any type of recreation we wanted. I chose to do forest by a modernist painter. For my second art piece I analyzed a poem about a storm and used a photograph I had taken to represent the poem.
Some challenges I faced with this project were the amount of time it consumed for me to paint. I also struggled with writing my essay, but my teacher was able to help me fix this problem. Overall, this project was fairly mellow and taught me a lot about the art culture of Spanish speaking countries. The struggles were minimal, and I enjoyed the work.
If I had the opportunity to redo this project the only thing I would change is the amount of art we did. I would have preferred to only do one art piece and spend a lot of time on it. This would allow us to dive deeper into our understanding of what we were doing and how to make it beautiful work. Lastly, most of the students only exhibited one art piece so the second one was unnecessary.
